Men's HOKA Mach 5
This is a great performance running shoe that is durable enough for daily training but is light and snappy for picking up the tempo or even racing.
Features
Get ready to perform—the HOKA Mach 5 offers a snappy and lively ride with its new PROFLY+ midsole that offers a lightweight and responsive feel directly underfoot and rubberized EVA below for traction. The PROFLY+ foam provides for a softer and bouncier ride than ever before.
The upper is a stripped-down, breathable single-layer creel jacquard engineered mesh that gives you a great lockdown around the midfoot and extra room in the forefoot. The flared heel holds the foot in while you pound the pavement. Plus, the gusseted tongue lays flat and is minimal with strategic cushioned pads.
Combining the best parts of the Mach Supersonic and Mach 4, the HOKA Mach 5ās uptempo ride will keep your legs feeling fresh and put a pep in your step.

“I use the Mach 5 as everyday trainers and for many workouts and even a few 5k races. They work great, and I like how they put me on my toes and how light they were.”

Gave them a try
After using the Hoka Bondis these seem to hit the sweet spot.
Hoka needs to stop changing a good thing.
They Mach 5 cut across the front of my foot where the shoe laces tie. I tried tying the shoe different ways same result. I've been wearing Hoka's for over 10 years. They changed the Clifton. The 9 stabs me under the ankle and the Mach 5 runs hard and cuts me across the top of the foot. I ran my last marathon in Brooks more comfort and stability. Very sad at the subtle changes made to the Clifton that no longer fit me correctly and the Mach 5 very uncomfortable in many ways. Time to move on.
Not my cup of tea!
So many people swear by these and I needed to replace my long distance shoes. I have always stayed away from Hokas for my reasons. I decided to swallow some pride and bought these. For comfort yes super comfortable. Everything else is just alright. I didnāt like how the outer sole is just foam. I slipped a couple of times. They arenāt as durable as others nor are they as fast. I get why people like them but not my cup of tea. For comfortable recovery runs and some nice casual long distance work Iāll stick with the NB 1080s. For faster long distance Iāll keep the Saucony Endo Speeds and for tempo workouts and race day hands down ASICS Magic Speeds.
Good replacement for Mach 4
I really liked the Mach 4 but this is a good replacement. The shoe seems slightly wider though than the previous. Still better than any of the other running shoes I tried.
Great Shoe Durability Concerns
Fantastic shoes. Those first few runs in new Hokaās are always awesome. Only downside is durability. These shoes will wear out after at most 6 months. However the price point makes not a bad hit. Overall great shoe especially paired with your unique insole.
Hoka Mach 5
Amazing long distance trainer and racing shoe would 100% recommend to my close friends.
The Mach Family Continues
Great shoe thought Mach 4 was a bit better firmer contact feel
Fast and comfortable.
Mach 5 is very fast for a 8.2 OZ shoe. The moment I put them on I felt like I was going to run well. I ran 2 half marathons and on them and Iām very happy Ć°ÅøĖĘ. Great all around shoe for training and racing.
Love them!!
Love them! Best running shoes I have ever worn. Already to get second pair for outdoor running too.
